Parks & Trails

The City of Terrace has a variety of trails, parks, playgrounds, sports fields and courts that support a fun and healthy lifestyle for locals and visitors. In addition to general use, residents and community groups can book many of the fields and parks for games, practices, tournaments and events. Go to Sports Fields, Parks and Courts for more info and a permit application.

George Little Park

George Little Park, situated in the heart of downtown, is a popular attraction for locals and tourists. The park was named after the town founder George Little and is a terrific gathering place for people to enjoy concerts, have a leisurely picnic, or just to sit and visit with friends. The park includes a large grassy area, an outdoor stage, a playground, a water park and a fitness park. Many locals events including the local farmers market, concerts, and even yoga classes take place in George Little Park. (Note that a City of Terrace permit is required for events.)

Dog Parks

For doggy owners, we also have two off-leash dog parks. Both are fenced, with parking, infrastructure (poop bags and garbage cans) and seating areas. These are located:

  1. In the Horseshoe - on Eby Street, near the Howe Creek Trail, north of Parkside School
  2. In the Southside - on Haugland Avenue, next to the Elk ball fields.

Thank you to Coastal Gaslink, which sponsored the Eby Street dog park, and Rotary Club of Terrace, which sponsored the Haugland Avenue dog park.

Please note: Ferry Island also has a year-round off-leash dog area, south of the power lines. Dogs must be on-leash year-round north of the power lines, including in the parking lots, and campground and playground area. More info and a map on the Ferry Island page

No dogs are permitted on sports fields at any time. All other City trails and parks are on-leash. Thank you for complying and picking up after your dog too!
