The City of Terrace Community Water System serves a population of approximately 12,000 people with 3,943 water connections. The system draws from three sources of water:
- Frank Street wells: provides over 99% of the water
- Deep Creek: emergency backup
- Skeena River: emergency backup
Three reservoirs at two sites store the water:
- Halliwell reservoir
- Largest of the three reservoirs
- Volume of 2,727m3
- Maximum winter turnover of 48 hours
- Services the Bench neighbourhoods and some areas of the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine north of town
- Wilson St. reservoirs:
- Two reservoirs
- Combined volume of 2,712m3
- Maximum winter turnover rate of 30 hours
- Services most of Terrace and Brauns Island
