The City of Terrace has filled the vacant Director of Leisure Services position with Tara Irwin, who will be departing from her role of City Planner to take this position.
Irwin has worked in a management capacity with the Development Services Department for the past 13 years, and as the City Planner for the last seven years. She brings to the position a background in environmental planning and policy and a commitment to enhancing public spaces. She has the combined experience of working in both a volunteer capacity and through her planning role with the City of Terrace to help to develop the trail network in Terrace and area. Irwin will start in her new role at the Sportsplex on May 10.
“Tara brings a wealth of local government experience to the position and a real passion for outdoor recreation. Thanks to her previous role as our City Planner, she is keenly familiar with the City’s Parks Master Plan. Tara also brings some new ideas and perspectives to the position, which I am excited to see develop,” said Kris Boland, Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Terrace.
The City will now begin the process of filling the vacant role of City Planner.
