City of Terrace Launches New Public Meeting Portal

City Hall

The City of Terrace is pleased to launch the City of Terrace CivicWeb Portal, a new online platform to increase transparency and citizen engagement.

This up-to-date, mobile-friendly web portal provides searchable access to City of Terrace meeting agendas, minutes, and documents. The portal also allows visitors to view a calendar of upcoming and previous meetings, view videos of recorded meetings, search meeting archives of past agendas and minutes, and see Council members’ attendance and voting records, all of which provide the public with greater transparency of local government proceedings. Members of the public can subscribe to receive meeting updates and agenda notifications, if desired.

“Launching this site is an exciting step for Terrace because it enables our community members to become involved more easily with what’s happening at City Hall. Any chance we get to help citizens connect with local government activities is a win for us. The site is accessible and straightforward to make it easy for community members to find information,” said Mayor Carol Leclerc. “The pandemic has especially helped show us the importance of technology to keep the community informed and engaged. This portal offers one more way for residents and visitors to know what is happening within the City of Terrace.”

The portal was created in conjunction with a new online agenda system, iCompass, which the City is now using to seamlessly create Council meeting agendas and minutes to save both time and money. The City has been using iCompass since 2013 but has upgraded the software subscription and agenda-building process for a more modern solution. This new system allows staff to build the agendas online without paper copies of reports, allowing for a more efficient workflow.

The City of Terrace CivicWeb Portal can be found on the City’s website, https://www.terrace.ca, or can be accessed directly by visiting https://www.terrace.ca/portal.
