If getting to the gym for a workout or fitness class was part of your regular routine—or maybe your New Year’s resolution—we are pleased to announce these activities will be open again as of Thursday, January 20 (gym) and Monday, January 24 (fitness classes). The latest updates from the PHO include restrictions similar to those in place last spring.
If you want to take a fitness class at the Sportsplex:
- Pre-booking for an entire month of classes at a time is required; no drop-ins permitted.
- Vaccine Cards showing proof of 2 doses are required for all participants.
- Classes continue to have a capacity of 25 in place to ensure space between each participant and the instructor.
- Masks remain mandatory when not exercising, and are encouraged but not required during exercise.
- If you are sick and can’t make it to a class you’ve registered for, you may contact us for a refund.
Our fitness classes will resume on MONDAY, JANUARY 24. The schedule for next week is available now; please note that if registering online, you’ll see start dates on that have passed for these classes, but the price only reflects the remaining class (or classes) in January. The February schedule will be available shortly (stay tuned for the full schedule) and booking the full month of a class will be required.

If you want to visit the gym at the Terrace & District Aquatic Centre:
- Pre-booking is required; no drop-ins permitted. You must pre-book even if you have a membership pass.
- Vaccine Cards showing proof of 2 doses are required for all users.
- You must be 14 years of age or older to use the gym unsupervised. Those 12–13 years of age may use the gym under the supervision of a parent, legal guardian, or instructor. Those under age 16 need to have an informed consent form on file that’s signed by a parent or legal guardian; if one has never been signed, please pick one up at the pool.
- The gym has a reduced capacity in place to maintain physical distancing.
- Masks remain mandatory when not exercising, including when moving between equipment, and are encouraged but not required during exercise.
- If you are sick and can’t make it for a gym session you have registered for, please contact us so we can remove you from the registration list (that way, someone else can take your spot). If you purchased a single session, a refund may be available; however, please note this does not apply to membership holders.
The gym will be open as of THURSDAY, JANUARY 20. Online booking is now open! Learn more about our current schedule and register for a session:
