Update from the City of Terrace regarding mask mandates and vaccine passports:
Earlier today, the Provincial Health Officer mandated that masks be worn in all indoor public spaces as of Wednesday, August 25. As a result, the City will require masks in all City-owned buildings.
When visiting the Sportsplex and Terrace & District Aquatic Centre, masks will be required in all common areas when you are not engaged in physical activity, such as swimming, working out in the gym, or attending a fitness class.
This mask mandate will apply to all patrons, those conducting business, and those providing a service. The same precautions apply to our staff, who will be required to wear masks indoors when not seated at their workstation. There are some people who may be exempt from mask requirements; please visit the provincial government’s page for details on this as well as the full list of indoor public settings that are affected by this order.
In addition, the BC Vaccine Card will impact use of our indoor recreation facilities owned and leased by the City of Terrace. As soon as we have further direction on how these new requirements will be implemented, we will provide full information to our user groups and the public.
