On Wednesday February 13, 2019 at approximately 9:28 pm, the Terrace Fire Department responded to reports of a confirmed structure fire on the 3300 block of Pheasant Street. The Fire Department believes the fire started at the rear of the carport and quickly started the fence and contents of the carport, including a vehicle on fire.
The Terrace Fire Department was able to contain the fire to the carport and its contents with little fire damage to the outside of the house and some smoke inside the house.
A family of four was home at the time and all were able to get out of the house safely.
The Terrace Fire Department had two fire trucks and 11 people at the scene. Crews were released from the scene by 11:30 pm and returned to the fire hall to restock trucks and fire gear to prepare to respond to any other calls.
At this time the fire is not suspicious in nature and a fire investigation is ongoing at this time.
Members of the public are asked to phone the Terrace Fire Department at 250-638-4734 if they witnessed the fire scene between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on the night of February 13, 2019.
