$200,000 is this year’s annual contribution to the City of Terrace from the Terrace Community Forest (TCF), a company owned by the City of Terrace.

This is the amount TCF generated from its 2023 commercial thinning and retention harvesting program and will put towards outdoor recreation and art projects in the City of Terrace.

Recent projects partly or fully funded by TCF funds are:

  • New pickleball courts on Halliwell Avenue
  • George Little Park playground expansion
  • Ferry Island art projects (New toad mural, carved Welcome sign, metal toad sculpture)
  • Cricket fields in Thornhill

To date, TCF has allocated $5 million to community projects in collaboration with various local partner organizations. TCF has also created direct community employment valued at approximately $30 million.

Big thanks to the Board of Directors, harvest contractor Timber Baron Contracting (2013) Ltd, Cypress Forest Consultants and First Nations partners (Kitsumkalum, Kitselas, Haisla, Metlakatla and Lax Kw'alaams) for making Terrace Community Forest the organization it is today.
