Our front desk hours are changing!
We recently completed a review of our in-person service needs at our main City buildings and have adjusted our public hours of operation to better meet these needs. These changes do not affect staff’s working hours per day, but provide some flexibility in start/end times and offer focus time at the start and end of the day. Many City services have also moved online in recent years (like swimming lesson registration, which we know many are happy about!), meaning we tend to see fewer in-person visits overall.
Here's the schedule as of May 1, 2024:
CITY HALL:
9:00 am-4:00 pm
- Now: 7 hours of service time (previously: 8:30 am-4:30 pm) – 1 hour reduction.
- We receive a low volume of in-person visitors outside these hours.
- Phones will still be answered from 8:30 am–4:30 pm.
- Hours will increase during tax season; stay tuned for details.
PUBLIC WORKS/DEVELOPMENT SERVICES:
9:00 am-4:00 pm
- Now: 7 hours of service time (previously: 8:30 am-4:30 pm) – 1 hour reduction.
- We receive a low volume of in-person visitors outside these hours.
- Phones will still be answered from 8:30 am–4:30 pm.
SPORTSPLEX:
8:00 am-4:00 pm
- Now: 8 hours of service time (previously: 8:30 am-4:30 pm) – no reduction.
- This slight shift in availability provides better service delivery for early-hours programming and patron visits.
TERRACE & DISTRICT AQUATIC CENTRE:
8:00 am-9:00 pm
- Now: 13 hours of service time (previously: 8:30 am-9:00 pm) – 0.5-hour increase.
- This provides better service delivery for early-hours programming and patron visits.
Our website will be fully updated to reflect these changes soon. Thanks for your patience.
