UPDATE- The Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESA) Strategy was adopted by council at the January 9, 2023 Regular Council Meeting.
In 2022 the City of Terrace in collaboration with Diamond Head Consulting completed a revaluation of environmentally sensitive areas (ESA) in the city. This revaluation included mapping ESAs and the development of an Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESA) Strategy. The ESA strategy is Appendix ‘A’ of the City of Terrace, Official Community Plan (OCP) replacing the 1998 Identification and Evaluation of Environmentally Sensitive Areas. The strategy has also updated the ESA mapping found in the OCP Schedule ‘C’ - Development Permit Areas.
The ESA Strategy was adopted by City Council on January 9, 2023. A full copy of the strategy can be viewed here. ESA development permit area mapping can be viewed on TerraMap by turning on the ESA layer found under the Planning→OCP→Development Permit Areas.
