The City of Terrace is extending our curbside collection of yard waste and kitchen scraps for the remainder of 2016.

Early in the New Year residents can expect to receive a new organics cart and information regarding collection of all organics including kitchen scraps.  Please watch for details on the City of Terrace website.

YARD WASTE & FOOD SCRAPS:

• Accepted: grass clippings, leaves, garden trimmings, also kitchen organics such as raw fruit and vegetable peels, eggshells, and coffee & tea grounds.
• Not Accepted:  Branches or sticks greater than 1cm in diameter, organics such as cooked food, oil, meat, fish, bones, animal wastes, and household refuse.
• It must be in compostable bags for collection.
• Compostable bags are to be filled in such a way that they can be easily picked up by one person - maximum weight 22kgs (50lbs).
