The Terrace Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) – the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for more than 90 years – to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign: “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere”. The campaign works to educate the public about basic but essential ways to quickly and safely escape a home fire. We informed the public on August 17, 2018 that a deficiency in the tile works around the edge of the Main Pool had been identified during project construction. Since that time, the City’s project team has continued to work with our prime contractor, Viking Construction, to rectify the issue, and the
City is exercising its rights under the contract to ensure the deficiency is corrected to the City’s satisfaction as quickly as possible and without any further cost to the City. We are pleased to report that correction of the deficiency is now underway. Read more
