UPDATED: We have received further direction from the BC Recreation and Parks Association regarding the latest PHO order and these details are included below.

Due to the PHO orders from December 21, there are some changes required at our fitness facilities as the province works hard to reduce the spread of the Omicron variant.

Effective in our facilities as of Thursday, December 23, 2021, until Tuesday, January 18, 2022:

  • Fitness classes at the Sportsplex are cancelled.
    • Any existing booked fitness classes are being refunded as a credit on your account; if you would like a refund to your credit card or other payment method instead, please contact the Sportsplex at 250-615-3000.
  • The gym at the Terrace & District Aquatic Centre is closed.
    • Any existing gym membership passes may be refunded or a credit may be added to your account for later—this will be pro-rated as of December 23. (However, if you are still planning to use your membership for the pool, please do not request a refund/credit.) Please contact the TDAC at 250-615-3030 to discuss your options.
  • The Terrace & District Aquatic Centre will require proof of vaccination for everyone 12+ participating in adult or mixed-age activities.
    • This includes public swims, Aquafit, laps, and most other activities on our calendar except youth swimming lessons and Junior Lifeguard Club (which are youth-only activities). As is our current practice at the Sportsplex for skating activities, staff will need to see your Vaccine Card in order to permit entry into the TDAC. This includes spectators. In addition, as of January 1, 2022, we are required to scan the QR code; a visual check alone will no longer be permitted. Please be ready with your Vaccine Card when you arrive.

In addition to these orders, please note that any booked parties, receptions, and special events must be cancelled, any booked seated events of any size must reduce to 50% capacity, and sport tournaments may not proceed. We will be contacting groups individually regarding cancellations.

Please continue to keep gatherings small, stay home if you’re feeling sick, wash your hands, wear a mask, and get vaccinated. Thank you for doing your part to help keep others safe, including your friends, family, and neighbours who may be particularly vulnerable to COVID-19, with or without the vaccine.
