The City of Terrace is proposing a 5% increase to the annual Licence Fee for all Business Licence Classes under Business Licence Bylaw No. 2112-2016. Most Business Licence fees have not been reviewed and updated since the adoption of the bylaw in 1990. The fees are currently lower than most of the surrounding municipalities in the region. In addition, the City of Terrace is in the process of implementing an online process for Business Licences through Civic Review. This will allow customers the option to pay online using credit cards but will also increase the costs to administer the Business Licencing program. The proposed increase in fees is intended to offset some of costs associated with the new online system and to help keep pace with other increasing costs to administer business licensing.
